WIEB Webinar: Western Flexibility Assessment
The Western Interstate Energy Board is pleased to announce the release of the Western Flexibility Assessment. This study investigates the flexibility of a future western grid in which renewable resources are deployed at levels consistent with enacted and foreseeable public policy requirements of Western states in the 2025 to 2035-time horizon. The study evaluates system flexibility using modeling tools designed to simulate grid operations, transmission capabilities, and system reliability. The study will inform government and utility decision makers about anticipated changes to the operations of the future grid and potential options to improve grid flexibility.
