Net Metering:

The passage of Colorado’s RPS in 2024 enabled the CPUC to adopt standards for net metering in 2005. Today, the policy of net metering allows customers to receive credit for every kilowatt-hour their solar panels produce at the same price residential customers are charged for electricity, up to 120% of their electricity demand for IOUs or capped at 10 kW for residential for municipal and cooperative utilities 402124; §409.5118). Colorado adjusted and clarified net metering calculations for Community Solar Gardens (CSGs) in 2023 (HB23-1137).
