WIEB Webinar: 2026 Shultz Energy Fellowship

August 20, 2026

Announcements, Webinars

This summer, the Western Interstate Energy Board (WIEB) hosted two Shultz Energy fellows from Stanford University to investigate wildfire resilience in the Western States. The fellows researched utility Wildfire Mitigation Plans and Community Wildfire Protection Plans, and conducted interviews with stakeholders across the region, including utility representatives, public utility commissioners, and community advocates. Their findings aim to improve understanding of the coordination between utility and community planning tools, emphasizing both the challenges and opportunities for better collaboration.

The Stanford University 2026 Shultz Energy fellows are:

  • Elli Rowley, Stanford University BS Earth Systems Science
  • Sophie Molins, Stanford University Masters Public Policy Candidate, BA Economics

Please join the fellows on Thursday, August 20 from 1:00–2:30 p.m. PT / 2:00–3:30 p.m. MT as they hold a webinar to share their research findings.
