Expanded Markets Training
WIEB hosted an Expanded Markets Training in Bozeman, Montana from March 11-12, 2026, for current state and provincial members.
This session included a day and a half of in-person, game-based day-ahead markets training, led in collaboration with Stanford University’s Program on Energy and Sustainable Development (PESD) team. Distinct from prior BOSR trainings, participants assumed the roles of generators in a higher-cost jurisdiction as well as vertically integrated utilities and generators across the broader region, using market rules to explore how regionalization could affect electricity costs for ratepayers in both areas.
