Clean Energy Targets:
Nevada has a statutory goal (not a binding mandate) of generating an amount of electricity equal to total retail sales from zero carbon dioxide emission resources by 2050 (SB 358, 2019; NRS 704.7820). SB 448 (2021) amended NRS 704.741 to require each electric utility to include in its triennial integrated resource plan at least one low carbon dioxide emissions scenario that achieves a reduction in the utility’s carbon dioxide emissions of at least 80% by 2030 compared to the utility’s 2005 levels.
