Net Metering:

Net metering is available to NV Energy customers for renewable systems up to 25 kW under a tiered structure (AB 405, 2017). The current Tier 4 rate credits net excess generation at 75% of the retail rate; customers retain their tier rate for 20 years. In September 2025, the PUCN approved a 15-minute netting interval for new Sierra Pacific Power (Northern Nevada) net metering customers whose applications are approved on or after October 1, 2025. For Nevada Power (Southern Nevada), the PUCN approved a 15-minute peak demand charge for residential and small general service customers effective April 2026; the 15-minute netting interval was not adopted for Nevada Power.
