UT has a residential building code that is mandatory statewide. The residential code must comply with 2015 IECC. In 2019, UT adopted the 2018 IECC commercial building code. The 2019 legislation strengthen various provisions of the residential code. (HB218).

UT has not set energy appliance standards beyond the federal regulation.
