As Markets+ nears go-live in 2027, the Markets+ State Committee (MSC) is working to enhance committee capacity by hosting educational sessions that focus on different aspects of Markets+. Attendance at these educational sessions is limited to MSC members and staff, other interested state representatives, and invited guests. A recording will be posted on this page following the meeting.
In this fifth installment of the MSC’s capacity plan, we will cover:
- An overview of organized markets and Markets+ objectives;
- Locational marginal pricing, congestion management, uplift, and scarcity pricing;
- Day-ahead vs. real-time dispatch and implications for retail rates.
We will be joined by experts Seth Blumsack from Penn State University and Garrott Granholm from Southwest Power Pool.
If you have any questions and/or concerns about this meeting or MSC business, please contact Gia Anguiano.
