Utah’s Energy Resource and Carbon Emission Reduction Initiative (SB 202, 2008; Utah Code 54-17-602) establishes a voluntary renewable portfolio goal of 20% of adjusted retail electric sales by 2025, applied only where cost effective. The goal applies to investor owned utilities, municipal utilities, and cooperatives.
