GHG Reduction Targets:

Legislated GHG reductions from 2007 baseline (Climate Change Accountability Act; Bill 38, 2018):

• 16% by 2025
• 40% by 2030
• 60% by 2040
• 80% by 2050

BC also sets 2030 sectoral targets in transportation, buildings and communities, industry, and oil and gas (Greenhouse Gas Reduction Targets Act regulation, 2021). Industrial emitters are regulated under the BC Output Based Pricing System.
